Who Are the Satos?

In Puerto Rico, the word “sato” is used to describe stray dogs. Behind that small word are thousands of big stories—dogs who’ve been abandoned, born on the streets, or left on beaches to fend for themselves.

The SATO Project is a nonprofit organization dedicated to rescuing these dogs, providing medical care and rehabilitation, and transporting them to loving homes where they can finally feel safe.
